Had some very interesting visits there with the grandchildren over the years when we lived there. Of course the most popular site was the Seals. Just loved seeing them frolic on Newfoundlands and flipping into the water. I assume they're still there. My son, Jerry Jones, who still lives in St. John's with his beautiful family, just forwarded your site on Facebook so I thought I'd come and say Hello!

I believe my grandfather, Patrick Coady is originally from Outer Cove. My mother, Philomena Coady grew up in St. John's. Though she left Newfoundland and eventually married and moved to Nova Scotia, Newfoundland never left my mother. She was always lonesome for Home. Wish I knew people in Newfoundland that may have known my mother's family - her mother was Brigid (Donnelly). I visited St. John's in July of 1991 and was stuck by its beauty and the people. Beautiful!

My parents were both born in Outer Cove, Newfoundland in the early 1900's. They came to the USA in the early 1920's. My Mother's name was Bridget Roche. My Father was William Doran. I am trying to connect with my relatives. Both my parents came from very large families. Years ago, I remember meeting an uncle from my Mothers side (Roche) who owned a trucking or stone company in Outer Cove. Any guidance that you could provide, or any names / addresses / email addresses would be greatly appreciated.

I lived in Outer Cove till I was 20, can someone please tell me what happened to Middle Cove Beach? It was nothing but rocks back then. Where did the sand come from?

love this site.I have yet to get through all the comments. I've noticed one in particular from G.Frank Power of O'NEILL'S Rd. that interests me. My Dad was from Logy Bay.. would love to hear more about this road and where it's located. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who knows about it.. thanks & thank you to the site creators! hope to hear from someone soon..

I attended first grade (no kindergarten then) in 1964. I would love to see a class picture and know who my teacher was that year at St. Francis of Assissi. My mother is from St. John's, my father was stationed in St. John's. He is an Oregonian. We moved alot between Oregon and Newfoundland. I'd be grateful for any contact from my class. Especially the little girl who called me Bickie.
