Pictured is the famous Outer Cove Fisherman's Crew
which was the kept virtually intact from 1923 through to 1926.
Throughout that period the crew participated and won the
Fisherman's Race each and every year at our Annual Regatta. In
addition they captured the Championship or All-Comers race in
1923 and 1926. They qualified for, but did not row in the
Championship race of 1925, when their coxwain Phil Brown elected
to steer another qualifying crew-the Truckman- stroked by Tom
Breen.
Five of the oarsman pictured rowed in the controversial
Fisherman's race of 1926.
